 Hyderabad is a diverse, metropolitan city. Its geography is also very interesting. In this post, I will be talking all about Hyderabad's geography.

Hyderabad's Geography

The water sources in Hyderabad include the Osman Sagar lake, Hussain Sagar lake, Musi river, Alwal lake, Durgam Cheruvu etc. 

Unfortunately the water from the Hussain Sagar and the Musi river are polluted and therefore cannot be used as drinking water. The city gets water mainly from the Krishna river, Nagarjuna Sagar dam and the Singur dam which are located upstream on the Krishna river. Hyderabad also received drinking water from the Manjra river, the Godavari river and the Osman Sagar lake. The water received by Hyderabad is sufficient for all the residents.

URBAN PLANNING
Urban planning in Hyderabad is done by many government organizations and the most notable ones out of them are HMDA which takes care of the planning of the city layout and GHMC which takes care of municipal activities. All of these government agencies have certain things to focus on such as railways, roadways etc.  

Hyderabad has many IT companies and this gives work to a lot of people. HITECH city is made specifically for companies to set their offices. It is made with all amenities such as water and food in large amounts for the workers. There is also fast wifi for the large number of workers. HITECH city is mainly for companies from the knowledge sector. Manikonda is a place in Hyderabad which is regarded as the most desirable place to live in Hyderabad. There are many apartments being built as well. Somajiguda is a place in Hyderabad where maufacturing industries are present. There are manufacturing industries in Hitech city as well.
  
ECONOMY
The major economy sources for Hyderabad are traditional manufacturing, the knowledge sector and tourism. Pharmaceuticals, automobiles and auto parts industries, poultry farming, textiles apparel industry, bulk drugs and real estate are also major economic sources for Hyderabad. 

CLIMATE
There are hot and humid summers from March to June with temperatures reaching 40 degrees celsius and temperatures going to a low of only 21 degrees celsius. From the month of July to October, the monsoon season kicks in with temperatures ranging from 13 degrees to 30 degrees. 

Hyderabad has a soil type of red sandy with areas of black cotton soil. Hyderabad has a lot of coal deposits. It also has limestone, lauxite and mica deposits. The air quality in Hyderabad according to the Air Quality Index is AQI which is moderate, but its PM2.5 concentration levels are 1.7 times higher than the limit recommended by WHO's 24 hours air quality guideline value.
