The journey to the Seventh Heaven

In the small, humble town of Ahobilam, an ancient Narasimha temple stands tall, catching everyone's eyes. The journey to the temple is a blessing in itself. It involves a short but adventurous trip to the Ahobilam temple, and then the long and exciting trek to the mountains begins. It involves travelling through the light Nalamalla Forest, filled with numerous little creatures, most importantly monkeys. People are given bamboo sticks to defend themselves against the 'terror' within the forest.

The Krodha temple blesses us with its presence first after a long and adventurous walk through the uneven terrain of the forest. We pray to the deity of Lord Narasimha and move on to the next temple- Jwala. Jwala is a sight for sore eyes. It has an impeccable look and is extravagant and beautiful. An alluring waterfall awaits us in front of the temple, showering us with cool and refreshing water. Jwala also has a deity of Lord Narasimha and the devotees who travel to see him, pray to him with utmost devotion. Nearby, a small reserve of blood-red water exists. It is believed that Lord Narasimha defeated the powerful demon, Hiranyakashipu and his blood remains in the water. At last, we get to see the Malolam temple. Right beside Jwala is the temple of Ugurastambam, a temple located above Jwala and involves the treacherous journey of climbing up rocks with no means of safety but a rope. With this, the jovial journey to paradise ends.
